  Blues For Breakfast

I woke up this morning and she had gone away
So I went down to the lonesome cafe
Told my all-time favorite fast and friendly waitress ol' Louise
I'll have the blues for breakfast please

Ol' Louise took down my order and wiped up a coffee stain
Then she punched in one by BB King and one by Elmore James
And that music filled up my hungry soul and set my worried mind at ease
I'll have the blues for breakfast please

I don't want no bacon and eggs sizzlin' in the pan
I don't want no Cheerios, no Raisin Bran
And that honeydew may tempt me
And that jelly roll may tease
But I'll have the blues for breakfast please
I'll have the blues for breakfast please

The jukebox stopped and right away Louise was standin' by
She said 'How about dessert, some Stevie Ray or Buddy Guy?
I'll give you four plays for a dollar, zero calories
I'll have the blues for breakfast please
I'll have the blues for breakfast please
